Overall, I think this is a great, affordable option that delivers results. For that reason, I only purchase C-Firma in the mini size I don’t find I’m able to get through the full 1-oz size before it really starts oxidizing. It’s also more expensive per ounce, but I find I need less product to cover my face. And again, no added fragrance or SD Alcohol, so it doesn’t cause any irritation. The hydration, in addition to brightening, makes it a winner. I find C-Firma more hydrating, so if you struggle with drier skin, you may have better luck with C-Firma. The other vitamin C I’d compare this to is Drunk Elephant’s C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum, which I really enjoy. I’m super curious about doing a full 6-month test down the line, as I am curious whether Skinceuticals can really justify its price tag. I’ve only tested the Skinceuticals over a 1-month period, but I noticed more brightening with Skinceuticals. The Timeless formula is suggested to be a dupe for Skinceuticals C E Ferulic serum, but I don’t find them to be identical in terms of results. It’s definitely not the type of product you want to stockpile or stock up on during a sale! Comparisons The key with vitamin C is to make sure you commit to using it because its shelf life is quite short. I continued to use it during its light-orange stage and was able to get through the product before it turned to a darker rust color. I kept mine at my vanity, and it kept for about 4 months before starting to change color. ![]() For best results, Timeless recommends using the product within 3 months. I like that the formula is clear because you can start to see when it starts to oxidize. ![]() Fortunately, the smell does not linger, and it’s really quite mild in the grand scheme of smells. If you’re used to a vitamin C with fragrance, the “hot dog water” smell of a non-fragranced formula may provide an initial shock. I was able to use this vitamin C daily without any irritation or sensitivity. It also doesn’t contain any essential oils or other potential irritants that take away from the benefits of vitamin C. I was happy to see it didn’t contain denatured alcohol, as I don’t think it agrees with my skin but appears in a lot of vitamin C products. In fact, its brevity is what drew me to the product.
